1/12/2011 - Each year, Kellogg students plan and host a series of business conferences addressing key opportunities in markets around the world.

Each conference is headlined by global business leaders who share their insights on the international economic landscape.

“Country-focused conferences are critical to ensure that Kellogg graduates are well-prepared for today's global work environment,” said Nishant Verman ’11, co-chair of the India Business Conference, which will take place on Kellogg’s Evanston campus later this month. “While our classes play an important role in teaching students about topics such as cross-cultural negotiation, international finance and international strategy, conferences provide more focused and current knowledge about the region.”

Upcoming international business conferences include:

India Business Conference
Themed “Building Bridges, Creating Connections,” this Jan. 29 conference will address India’s emerging robust economy, focusing on the opportunities that have been created as a result of the country’s increasing economic influence. Keynote speakers include Sam Pitroda, the adviser to India’s prime minister on public information infrastructure and innovations, and Praful Patel, India’s minister of state for civil aviation. The conference also features the final round of the Social Innovation Competition.

Africa Business Conference
At this April 2 conference, attendees will hear from emerging leaders who are driving Africa’s economic growth. With the theme, “Africa’s Golden Age: Seizing Opportunities in an Exciting New Era,” speakers will share how Africa is becoming a promising frontier for investment opportunities.

Latin America Business Conference
The challenges, business opportunities and economic environment in Latin America are among the highlights of this May 7 conference. “Latin America: Shaping the Decade to Come” will address the global role of Latin America, including its current and future financial landscape; and new venture opportunities and emerging areas for businesses.

Greater China Business Conference
At the May 18 “China: Beyond the Great Wall” conference, speakers and panelists will provide insight into the key issues facing local and international companies operating in greater China. Keynote speakers will address questions such as “Is it too late to enter China?” and will offer perspectives on the country’s future economic prospects.
