Larry Gies ’92, Founder and CEO, Madison Industries

Transforming Your Perspective on Leadership

2/1/18 – As Founder and CEO of Madison Industries, Larry Gies used to say the role of the leader was capital allocation, finding the right people and risk management. But going through a transformation from an investment firm to an operating company changed his perspectives about leadership.

While he’s intentionally kept a pretty low profile, he has made some very generous donations in the education space, including to Kellogg—the largest single donation to date in fact—due to how he views charity as an investment. Kellogg was pleased to welcome him to speak at the Brave Leader series.
