Matt Caldwell Veterans Program
Launched to enhance veteran mentorship, scholarships and community engagement, The Matt Caldwell Veterans Program reflects Kellogg’s long-standing belief in veterans’ exceptional leadership and resilience.
Named after Matt Caldwell ’10 JD, MBA — a U.S. Army veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and CEO of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx — the program honors Caldwell’s journey from growing up on Staten Island with a strong sense of duty shaped by his NYPD‑officer father to leading soldiers in Iraq and Kosovo.
The program supports:
-
Expanded scholarship opportunities dedicated to veterans, helping reduce financial barriers and ensuring service members and military leaders can access a Kellogg education.
-
Strengthened veteran alumni engagement through tailored networking events, community‑building gatherings and expanded mentorship programs connecting current Kellogg veterans with those who have served before them.
-
Establishment of the Kellogg Veterans Council, an advisory group of distinguished veteran alumni who will provide strategic guidance and champion future veteran‑focused initiatives at the school.

Scholarships + financial aid
Kellogg proudly supports U.S. veterans through participation in the Post‑9/11 GI Bill® and the Yellow Ribbon Program across our MBA programs. As a Yellow Ribbon school, Kellogg provides institutional funding that is matched by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for eligible students. Combined, these benefits can substantially reduce out‑of‑pocket tuition costs for veterans pursuing an MBA at Kellogg.

Scholarships
Scholarships are available across all of our programs, and students are automatically considered in most cases. Those scholarship selections are made during the admissions process, and students who are chosen for an award are notified at the time of their admission. This streamlined approach ensures applicants receive full consideration for available funding without any additional steps.
