Major Description

The finance major prepares students for career paths that include but are not limited to investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, investment management, and private equity. The curriculum covers both corporate finance and capital markets. In the Corporate Finance courses students learn how firms optimally choose their projects, how firms raise capital to start and continue a business, how firms choose their dividend policy and capital structure, and how firms manage risk. In the Capital Market courses students learn how the prices of stocks, bonds, currencies, and derivatives are determined; how financial markets work; and how financial markets fit into the broader economy.

Major requirements are determined by the quarter you began your Kellogg MBA program. Any new courses and adjustments to the major displayed in the most recent academic year can be applied to previously matriculated students.
