The Joyce Foundation
Nickol R. Hackett is the Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer of the Joyce Foundation, leading the investment strategy and stewardship of the Foundation’s endowment. As a member of the executive leadership team, she directs portfolio strategy and alignment in support of the Foundation’s grantmaking priorities.
With more than 25 years in investment management and capital markets, Ms. Hackett brings deep leadership experience shaped by roles in both the private and public sectors. She previously served in senior positions in investment banking before leading investment offices overseeing multibillion-dollar institutional portfolios for plan participants, nonprofits, and other mission-aligned stakeholders. Her strategic portfolio management as founding CIO of the Cook County Pension Fund has been featured in the Harvard Business School Case Collection. She has also been recognized by Institutional Investor as Foundation CIO of the Year and honored with the Distinguished Investment Professional Award by Women Investment Professionals.
A dedicated civic and cultural advocate, Ms. Hackett serves as Treasurer of the Economic Club of Chicago and on the Executive Committee of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, among other affiliations.
Ms. Hackett holds an MBA in finance and economics from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management and a BA in history from Northwestern University.
