Barry McCarthy ’96 MBA
President and CEO, Deluxe

Barry McCarthy is a Fortune 1000, NYSE-listed company board director and CEO known for leading transformation, driving growth and building innovative, customer-centric businesses. He brings broad industry expertise across SaaS, fintech, payments, financial services, manufacturing and consumer goods. 

As president and CEO of Deluxe, Barry has led the company’s evolution from a legacy check printer to a trusted payments and data platform, processing nearly $3 trillion in annual payments — approximately 15% of U.S. GDP — while delivering four consecutive years of organic revenue growth. 

Prior to joining Deluxe, Barry held senior leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Wells Fargo, Verisign and First Data (now Fiserv), where he led innovation initiatives, including the launch of Apple Pay. 

He earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and serves on the boards of Deluxe, the National Urban League and the Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board. A bestselling author and EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Barry’s insights have been featured by CNBC, Bloomberg, Forbes and Fortune.
