An educational hub for global business and new ventures

The Hong Kong University of Science Technology’s School of Business and Management has risen to international prominence since its opening in 1991. Located in the heart of Asia’s economic center, the HKUST Business School maintains several state-of-the-art learning centers that are devoted to topics ranging from Chinese and global business to new ventures in Asia.

In 1998, the Kellogg School and HKUST united for a common goal: to foster a new network of leaders with global insights and local sensitivities. Its graduates represent the best of Asia’s managerial and entrepreneurial talent.

Deal Making in China and Asia focuses on developing and applying practical deal-making strategies to real-world transactions in the Asia Pacific region, drawing on the professor’s 30+ years of experience living and working in Asia. Designed as a highly interactive and participatory experience rather than a traditional lecture, the course places participants in the role of deal makers, such as lead negotiators, investors, bankers, consultants, or advisors - engaging them directly in complex, pioneering transactions.

From Risk to Reward: Strategies for Sustainable Business Transformation examines the evolving ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) landscape and its growing influence on business strategy. Through lectures, case studies, and discussions, participants learn to navigate regulatory challenges, identify opportunities for innovation, and integrate sustainability into business models. Designed for leaders and managers, the course equips participants with the tools to enhance both profitability and positive environmental and social impact in an increasingly sustainability-driven global economy.

Value Investing from an Economic Perspective covers the fundamental theory and philosophy of value investing as developed since Graham, introducing the styles of prominent investors such as Graham and Buffett. The course presents core investment techniques, including search, valuation, and portfolio construction, and applies this framework to the analysis of specific companies.
