Understanding the complexities of growth
Alumni from Apple, Align Technology and ServiceSource join Professor Mike Mazzeo for a talk on growth strategies
The challenge to create lasting growth is complex, says Mike Mazzeo, an associate professor of strategy and author of Roadside MBA: Backroad Lessons for Executives, Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners. From uncovering and leveraging capabilities to figuring out how and where to expand, growth can be both obtainable and elusive at the same time.
“That challenge is one that we find multi-disciplinary,” Mazzeo said to a packed audience March 4 in San Francisco. “[They] aren’t challenges that can be isolated.”
With those challenges in mind, Mazzeo led a panel discussion on creating lasting growth at a Kellogg Insight Live event with Apple Retail Vice President and CFO Nick Severino ’94, ServiceSource Chairman Mike Smerklo ’97 and Align Technology President and CEO Tom Prescott ’92.
