Professor of Operations Management (Open Rank)


Applications are invited for faculty positions in Operations Management. The search is open to all ranks. A Ph.D. in Operations Management, Business, Engineering or related field must be in hand or expected by employment start date. Research potential, recommendations, and teaching capabilities will be the primary selection criteria. Candidates in all research areas of operations management will be considered, but they must have a thorough knowledge of operations management theory and practice. Successful applicants will be expected to do innovative research in operations management, participate in the school’s Ph.D. program, and teach required and elective MBA courses.

Professor of Accounting Information & Management (Open Rank)


The Kellogg School of Management is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in accounting at the assistant, associate, or full professor levels. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by employment start date. Selection criteria include demonstrated ability or potential for exceptionally high quality research and teaching, and strong recommendations.

Professor of Managerial Economics & Decision Sciences (Open Rank)


Applications are invited for faculty positions in the Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences Department. The search is open to all ranks. The MEDS Department includes faculty in pure and applied microeconomic theory, game theory, development economics, and political economy. We invite applicants in economics and political science. Salary is competitive. Primary criteria will be excellent recommendations, outstanding research potential, and superior teaching capabilities. Candidate must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by employment start date. Successful applicants will be expected to do innovative research, participate in the school’s Ph.D. program, and teach required and elective MBA courses. Professor of Strategy (Open Rank)


Applications are invited for faculty positions in the Strategy Department. The Strategy Department consists of applied microeconomists who actively conduct research to enhance our understanding of the performance of firms, markets, organizations, and economies. The search is open to all ranks. We seek individuals who address real-world phenomena with rigorous microeconomic theory and/or empirical methods and who have research interests in industrial organization, public finance, organizational economics, international, the economics of innovation, or related fields. Salary is competitive. Primary criteria will be excellent recommendations, superior teaching capabilities, and outstanding research potential. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by employment start date. Successful applicants will be expected to do innovative research, participate in the school’s Ph.D. program, and teach required and elective MBA courses.

Professor of Finance (Open Rank)


Applications are invited for full-time, tenure-track positions, at all ranks, for the 2019/20 academic year (starting September 1, 2019). Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline in hand or expected by employment start date. Candidates should demonstrate strong research skills and an understanding of, and appreciation for, a quality academic program at the M.B.A. and Ph.D. levels. Qualified female and minority candidates are particularly invited to apply. Salaries are competitive. Professor of Marketing (Open Rank)


KELLOGG SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY HAS ONE OR MORE FULL-TIME TENURE TRACK POSITIONS OPEN in the Marketing Department at the rank of Assistant Professor or above for academic year 2019-2020. The position requires being responsible for conducting advanced research in chosen areas of expertise and interest; supervising doctoral candidates; teaching basic and advanced courses in marketing at the Master’s Degree level; contributing to the research and teaching of other faculty members. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in marketing or related fields (e.g., economics, management, psychology, sociology, statistics, cognitive sciences, etc.) in hand or expected by employment start date. Selection criteria include potential for (or record of) superior research, adaptability and creative interests in application to marketing problems, excellent teaching ability, and strong recommendations. Professor of Management & Organizations (Open Rank)


The Management and Organizations Department of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions. We are primarily interested in applications at the rank of Assistant Professor, but we will also consider outstanding candidates at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in topics relevant to management or organizations and provide evidence of outstanding research potential and an ability to enhance the department’s research and teaching portfolio. The department supports diverse approaches to research, grounded in psychology, sociology, organizational behavior and theory, strategic management and behavioral data science. A PhD or equivalent degree must be in hand or expected by employment start date.

Clinical Professor of Family Enterprise (Open Rank)

The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University is seeking candidates for an open-rank clinical faculty position serving as Faculty Director of Kellogg’s Center for Family Enterprises (KCFE). This position integrates teaching leadership, strategic leadership, and thought leadership within the family enterprise curriculum in Kellogg’s degree and executive programs. The Faculty Director of KCFE engages with the global family-enterprise community, inclusive of Kellogg alumni, current students, executive education participants, leading family enterprises, as well as world-leading practitioners in advising family-businesses. The Faculty Director also engages Kellogg and Northwestern faculty across disciplines – finance, marketing, social impact, law, communications, psychology and others – to enhance the scholarship and capabilities of KCFE and to deliver valuable offerings to family enterprises, students, and other audiences. The Faculty Director serves as an advocate for stakeholders in the family business community on campus, locally and globally, demonstrating a true appreciation for and support of the unique attributes of family business.

The ideal candidate will embody many of the following attributes:
  • Strong experience teaching or consulting in family business or entrepreneurship or a related field, with great “front-of-the-room” presence; 
  • The ability to engage with the global family enterprise community with an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the dynamics of family business; 
  • Presence and gravitas to gain credibility with multiple stakeholders; 
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment and across multiple constituencies; 
  • Experience as a thought leader who is forward-thinking, on the cutting edge of family business with the ability to convene experts in the field. Research-based thought leadership is a plus; 
  • A PhD in a social science discipline, such as management, psychology, or sociology; 
  • A demonstrated ability to teach, consult, and otherwise engage with an international audience; 
  • Experience in strategic planning and business development; 
  • Experience in curriculum development.
