There's a Better Way to Manage Your Inventory
Kellogg Operations Department
Faculty in the Operations Department examine how firms design and manage their activities and resources to achieve their strategic goals.
Through both theoretical and empirical research, the faculty study a wide range of industries including retail, transportation, and healthcare. In both research and teaching, faculty consider not just traditional manufacturing topics but also supply chains and services.
Operations faculty include a number of noted, award-winning scholars who have published both scholarly articles and textbooks.
Department faculty publish in academic journals as well as produce managerial-oriented articles and textbooks. Multiple faculty members have won scholarly awards for individual papers as well as career achievement awards such as being named Distinguished Fellows of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society.
Operations faculty members have held numerous editorial positions at top publications, such as Operations Research, Management Science, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. Individual faculty have also taken on leadership roles in professional organizations, such as Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society and the Applied Probability Society.
