Knightian Uncertainty

Truman F. Bewley is the Alfred Cowles Professor of Economics at Yale University, where he has been teaching since 1982. He holds a B.A. in history from Cornell University (1963) and Ph.D.s in economics and mathematics from the University of California-Berkeley (1970 and 1971, respectively). He has previously taught at Harvard University, the University of Bonn, and Northwestern University. In 1978 he was elected to become a Fellow of the Econometric Society and has served on its council since 1987.

Professor Bewley was awarded numerous grants from the National Science Foundation as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship. He is om the editorial boards of the Journal of Mathematical Economics, Econometrica, and Economic Letters. He served as the program chairman of the 1985 World Congress of the Econometric Society. Professor Bewley has published extensively in the areas of economics theory, game theory, and mathematics.
