2009 Kearney Case Competition
In May 2009, Certificate Program students Sean Yoo, Brian Hathaway and Anup Tapase, won the A.T. Kearney Case Competition in Evanston, Ill.
The case involved a fictional wind power company headquartered in Europe. The team argued that although the alternative energy industry had enjoyed many years of demand for its products, this trend would reverse within a few years. They recommended that the company concentrate on fixing some internal problems so it would be well-positioned when oversupply caught up to demand and its more aggressive competitors.
Judges commended the team for the logical flow of its recommendations. The very satisfying win came on team member Hathaway’s 21st birthday.
