Ann founded her own practice, Ascend Career Coaching, LLC in Fall, 2025. She is an experienced job search coach on topics ranging from self assessment, resumes and LinkedIn profile development, creating a marketing plan and targeted company list, understanding the value of networking and crafting a strong elevator pitch, interview preparation and mock interviews, decision making and onboarding. She has coached clients re-entering the market after a career break, those hoping to move up in their company or those in transition. She serves as an accountability partner as a supportive, encouraging coach to all her clients.
Prior to that, Ann served as Associate Director of the Alumni Career & Professional Development Team at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University for over 20 years. She has coached thousands of Kellogg alumni globally, across all experience levels, from new graduates through senior management and into the C Suite. As a generalist, she has coached across a wide variety of industries and functions.
In addition, she has conducted workshops for up to 150 participants, including pioneering the series for experienced job seekers-“50 Tips for 50 Somethings” and “Flex Your Networking Muscle,”. She has also facilitated many job search accountability groups. She has a passion for helping job seekers over the age of 50.
Prior to joining the alumni coaching team, she worked in the world class Kellogg Career Management Center helping top tier full-time and evening/weekend MBA students with their job searches, as well as managing the on-campus recruiting team that supported over 300 companies recruiting on campus.
She is a graduate of Michigan State University and lives in the Grand Rapids area in Michigan. In her free time, she enjoys riding and competing with her horse, Nicholas.
