I read your advertisement on Bloomberg and would like to apply for the Associate position in Mergers & Acquisitions with Goldman Sachs. Goldman’s focus on strategic, financial and M&A problem-solving in addition to your culture of exceeding customer expectation by creating breakthrough creativity in an intense team-oriented, goal-driven and firm-first environment, is very attractive to me.
I have a strong, proven record of understanding and changing organizational systems, and working in unstructured and structured environments. My personality, integrity, leadership, strong analytical and planning skills have helped me successfully lead and manage teams to resolve major issues and finish large projects ahead of schedule and under budget. As a result of my in-depth financial and operational analysis, and resulting decisions, BMI became profitable for the first time after five straight years of loss.
At my most recent job, I convinced my SBU Director to close one of the plants after a thorough financial, operational and personnel evaluation. The harsh decision of laying-off 63 people to help save approximately $6M/year did not affect my decision/analysis. As a member of the senior staff, my responsibilities included making the division profitable by deciding on the future strategy for the whole division and improving operational effectiveness.
