Impact and Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium
The Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium brings together faculty members from around the world who teach and research in the realm of impact investing and sustainable finance. The Consortium is a community of educators who come together to share and learn from and with one another.
Faculty members teach and research on topics that span private and public markets, address both investor and managerial behavior, cover thematic lenses like gender and racial equity, integrate standards, metrics and policy, and asses impacts that are environmental and social.
The Consortium is a forum for faculty to discuss the salience of critical emergent ideas. Recent discussions have tackled shareholder voice and activism, green taxonomies, biodiversity, universal ownership, and natural capital – all from the lens of pedagogy. The Consortium is at the forefront of adapting innovative practice into the classroom and is responsible for ensuring that academia is preparing students to become leaders in sustainable and impact finance.

The Consortium has 420+ participating faculty who collectively represent 220+ universities based in 40+ countries. All active members have current faculty appointments at accredited universities and currently teach or research on the topic of impact and sustainable finance.

History and Activities
In 2017, a small group of dedicated and expert faculty members saw a pressing need for a community within which the could connect and share experiences. That idea was funded through the support of the MacArthur Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, and the small group has grown into a global network.
The Consortium is anchored by an annual Convening that brings together member to meet in person and discuss recent developments in the field and the growing body of academic research, and the pathways for new knowledge to be brought into the classroom. This Convening has been hosted at the Kellogg School of Management and Singapore Management University.
The Consortium hosts virtual conversations and presentations throughout the year.
