Allison Clark
Adjunct Lecturer in the Social Impact Program
Allison Clark serves as Associate Director for Impact Investing at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and has worked in affordable housing, economic development, and commercial real estate for over 30 years. She joined the Foundation in 2006 to oversee investments made through the Foundation’s $150 million Window of Opportunity affordable rental housing preservation initiative that ultimately led to the preservation of over 175,000 units of housing over 20 years. Allison currently serves as a core member of the Chicago Commitment team, where she helps develop impact investing opportunities to advance the Foundation’s strategies in the Vital Communities and Culture, Equity, and the Arts programs. She also leads the Foundation’s work on the Just Home Project, a demonstration project focused on using affordable housing to disrupt the cycle of housing instability and homelessness with criminal justice involvement.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Allison worked in lending and investing capacities at Fannie Mae, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and the New York City Economic Development Corporation. She has served on a variety of boards of directors for nonprofit organizations including the Chicago Foundation for Women, Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, the Chicago Chess Foundation and Lawndale Christian Development Corporation.
Allison graduated from Harvard-Radcliffe College with a bachelor’s degree in Government and earned a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
