The Dispute Resolution Research Center is an internationally-recognized center for research on conflict, collaboration, dispute resolution and negotiation. As part of our intellectual mission, we convene research conferences bringing together preeminent scholars to advance the study of conflict-related topics, such as ethnic conflict, relational and intergroup conflict, negotiations, social movements, and ethical breaches. These conferences aim to provide a deeper understanding of and potential solutions for the big problems that arise from conflict in society.

We also provide training opportunities designed to help instructors build course content and engage students by teaching about complex conflict, collaboration, and negotiation issues. Our workshops generally feature new DRRC exercises that can be used by instructors in schools of management, law, communications, and public policy around the world, as well as by consultants and management trainers.

High Stakes Negotiation Webinar Series

Bring the complexity of real-world negotiation into your classroom

Join Kellogg Teaching Resources and the DRRC for two upcoming webinars created for instructors looking to deepen classroom conversations around challenging negotiation dynamics. These sessions introduce engaging teaching materials and practical approaches for examining what happens when trust breaks down, power is uneven, geopolitical forces shape the bargaining environment, and negotiators face consequential decisions.

Full Court Press | Dani Gilbert (Northwestern University)

Explore how to teach Full Court Press, a case that takes students inside the real-life negotiations and advocacy efforts that helped secure WNBA star Brittney Griner’s release from Russian detention. The case provides a compelling way to examine high-stakes negotiation, stakeholder and coalition building, geopolitical constraints, and the role of media and public advocacy.
