Tadd Chessen

Tadd Chessen is the managing director of Marketable Investments at the Northwestern University Investment Office. Prior to Northwestern, Tadd was a portfolio manager at Perkins Investment Management and an investment professional at Millgate Capital, Saunders Karp & Megrue, and Hicks Muse Tate & Furst.Chessen received a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Mark Coe ’87 MBA

Mark is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Intrinsic Edge Capital Management. Mark also founded Coe Capital Management. He began his investment career in 1987 as an analyst at Gofen and Glossberg, Inc. and later established Kent Associates within Paine Webber. Mark received his BS from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Scott Fearon ’83 MBA

Scott Fearon is president of Crown Capital Management, having incorporated the firm in 1990. Fearon has been a portfolio manager since 1985, first at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston and more recently at GT Capital in San Francisco. He received his BA from Stanford University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Stuart Goode ’65, ’66 MBA

Stuart Goode is an independent investment manager. Previously he was managing director at Warburg Pincus and vice president at Gulf and Western Industries. Stuart received his BS and MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Michael Lowenstein ’84 MBA

Michael Lowenstein is the co-founder and co-president of Kenisco Capital Management. He received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jennifer O'Hara Martin ’99 MBA

Jennifer O'Hara Martin is a global equity portfolio specialist in the U.S. Equity Division of T. Rowe Price. She is a member of the Global Growth Equity, Global Focused Growth Equity, Global Technology Equity, Communications & Technology Equity, Science & Technology Equity and U.S. Structured Research Equity Strategy teams. Jennifer received her BS  from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Avi Nash ’81 MBA

Avi Nash is chair of Motivation for Excellence. He formerly headed a management consulting firm, Avi Nash LLC. He was a partner of Goldman Sachs heading the firm’s Global Chemical Industry Group as well as the North American Basic Materials Group in the investment research division. He also served as a senior business strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. He has a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, an MS from Syracuse University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Joon Park ’08 MBA

Joon Park is COO and President of Kodai Asset Management, a fundamental equity focused hedge fund headquartered in Chicago.  Joon has a deep background in risk management, portfolio construction and talent acquisition.  Prior to co-founding Kodai, Joon worked as COO of Alyeska, another large Chicago hedge fund.  Prior to Alyeska, Joon was deputy COO of the global equities business at Citadel.  Joon has an MBA from Kellogg and completed his undergrad at Indiana University.

Kimberly Querrey

Kimberly Querrey is currently president and CEO of Gulf Shore Private Capital, LLC. Querrey was formerly president and co-founder of SQ Advisors, LLC. She is chair of the board of Epicore Biosystems and serves on the board of Sibel Health. She has over 30 years experience in operations including production, regulatory affairs, environmental, safety and occupational health, troubleshooting, human resources, union negotiations, efficiency, due diligence and mergers and acquisitions. Querrey is a trustee of Northwestern University, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and has served on numerous non-profit and corporate boards. She holds BS degrees from West Virginia Institute of Technology and an MS from Murray State University. 

Jeffrey Ubben ’87 MBA

Jeffrey Ubben is a founder and managing partner of Inclusive Capital Partners, the retired founder of ValueAct Capital and a founder and portfolio manager of the ValueAct Spring Fund. Previously, he was a managing partner at Blum Capital Partners. Ubben is a director of The AES Corporation, AppHarvest and Enviva Partners, LP. He is the former chairman and director of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. He serves on the boards of The Nature Conservancy’s NatureVest, the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation and World Wildlife Fund, and formerly served as chair of the National Board of the Posse Foundation. He has a BA from Duke University, where he is a trustee, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Robin Yoshimura ’94 MBA

Robin Yoshimura is a managing director and wealth manager at First Republic Investment Management, where he joined in 2015. Prior to First Republic, Yoshimura was a director at Credit Suisse Private Bank USA. Before working for Credit Suisse, Yoshimura was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers Private Investment Management. He began his financial career working for Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Group where he became a principal. Prior to his career in investments, he worked as an engineer for GE. He received a BS in electrical computer engineering from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

*Malcolm Jones ’82 MBA, 2007-2023

Malcolm Jones has almost four decades of experience in the capital markets with a focus on public finance investment banking and advisory work. Jones is managing director at North South Capital, though he is mostly retired. He has worked at Lehman Brothers, Smith Barney, Kidder Peabody, Tribal Capital Markets, Public Resources Advisory Group, Sperry Capital and AIG Sun America. Jones has taught at the Kellogg School of Management and is a volunteer leader at Northwestern University and with organizations in the Bay Area. He received his AB from Dartmouth College and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

*Jerome P. Kenney ’67 MBA, 2007-2019

Jerome P. Kenney was vice chairman and a member of the Executive Client Coverage Group at BlackRock. He served as head of corporate strategy and research, and oversaw corporate credit, marketing and government relations. Previously, he served as president and CEO of the Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Group where he was a member of the board of directors. Before Merrill Lynch, Kenney was at White Weld & Co. where he was director of research, director of worldwide institutional sales and equity trading and a member of the board of directors. He received a BA in economics from Yale University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

William H. McLean, Advisory Council Member 2007-2017

William H. McLean is the president and CIO at Spider Management Company. During his tenure on the Advisory Council he was vice president and CIO for Northwestern University. Previously, McLean was the senior managing director for asset and investment management at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and served as an investment officer at The Duke Endowment. A chartered financial analyst, McLean received his BA in economics from Davidson College and his MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

*Louis A. Simpson ’58, Advisory Council Member 2017-2022

Louis A. Simpson was chairman of Gulf Shore Private Capital. Formerly, Simpson was chairman of SQ Advisors, president and chief executive officer of capital operations for GEICO Corporation, president and chief executive officer of Western Asset Management, partner at Stein Roe and Farnham and an instructor of economics at Princeton University. He also served as senior fellow and adjunct professor of finance at The Kellogg School of Management, and a member of Northwestern University’s Board of Trustees.
