Application Process for Full-Time Students

Know when you need to submit your application for a Full-Time Exchange Program

Applications for the Full-Time Exchange Program will be done in two rounds. If you are highly interested in a particular school(s), we recommend that you apply during Round 1. We cannot guarantee that all partner schools will have spaces available for Round 2. Typically, several schools close during Round 1.

Note: Students interested in studying abroad during Fall 2020 must apply during Round 1.

Additional information regarding information sessions, including the location, will be posted on the Campus Groups calendar, as well as sent to the student listserv at least one week in advance.

Application Process

Full-Time students may apply to a maximum of three schools per round. Each application will be considered on its own merit in comparison with the other applications for that particular school. Applying to multiple schools does not affect your chances of being assigned to your first choice.

* The application portal will be opened at least 48 hours prior to the application deadline. This helps cut down on duplicate submissions in the event applicants forget they have already completed the survey or they change their mind about which programs they want to apply for.

Materials for Submission

Please submit one document for each school* (PDF Preferred) you are applying to containing the following:

  • Current Resume
  • Essay 1 (2-pages, double-spaced) - General Essay *
  • Essay 2 (2-pages, double-spaced) - School-specific Essay

* Please name each document as follows: “Host School Name - Last Name, First Name”

* You may use the same “Essay 1” response for each application you submit.

Essay Prompts

Essay 1:Tell us about a formative experience that you have had with a different culture. How did this experience change your views on people, business, community, or society? How does the experience influence the way you approach your time at Kellogg?

Essay 2: How do you think studying abroad at this particular school and/or in this particular country will impact you personally, academically, and in your future career?

A Note About Your Essays
Please do not underestimate the importance of the two essay questions. They can be very important in determining inclusion in the exchange program.

The more specifics you can provide in your responses, the more informed our placement decisions will be.
