New gift provides dedicated mental health counselor to support Kellogg students
By Greg Hanifee
Associate Dean, Degree Operations and Programs
As a top global business school, the Kellogg School of Management is committed to nurturing both the personal and professional growth of our high-achieving student population. Our students balance rigorous coursework with internships, job searches and family responsibilities, often facing unique challenges that require special support.
Thanks to a generous foundational donation from an anonymous donor, we are excited to introduce a new, dedicated mental health counselor position at Kellogg. The donation allows us to launch the position and reflects our commitment to ensuring that all full-time students have access to the mental health resources they need to thrive.
While valuable resources have always been available through Northwestern’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), this new staff member will offer individualized support tailored to the Kellogg full-time student community.
The counselor will report into the CAPS organization and will be integrated into our student experience team, ensuring a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by our graduate students. By being present on campus within the Kellogg community, this counselor will not only provide essential support but also become a trusted resource for our full-time students navigating their business school journeys.
CAPS and Northwestern Human Resources are working now to fill this role, with input from Kellogg staff and students. Our goal is to have this counselor start during the current academic year.
This commitment will make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students. Together, we can foster an environment where all Kellogg students feel supported and empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
