On Sustaining Research Agendas: Their Moral and Scientific Basis.

Salute to Phillip Selznick, for his role in establishing organization theory, and his vision of where it is (or should be) headed. In his last address, he not only reflected on his initiation of studies about organizational identity, leadership, and institutionalization, but called for a more sustained attention to the "problem of responsible enterprise."
