Sensitive Hypertempering and the 1992 New York City AIDS Reporting Delay Data

We investigate the properties of a multilevel MCMC sampler in investigating a Bayesian posterior distribution with significant multimodality. We address issues of sampler construction for optimal performance based on the Hellinger distance between successive versions of the target posterior.
