Adjunct Lecturer in the John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises
Jennifer Strom, MBA, MFT, is an experienced consultant to families
who own shared assets, such as operating businesses, joint
investments, and family offices. She specializes in working with
multi-generational families, particularly in supporting the rising
generation and promoting durable family harmony by creating
structure and providing education to protect assets and family
relationships.
Jennifer works with families, as well as their advisors and family
offices, to help her clients make decisions and participate as owners
based on their values and legacy. She excels in navigating complex
decision-making within the dynamics of family relationships.
With a unique blend of an MBA and formal training as a Marriage
and Family Therapist, Jennifer is adept at using both empathy and
clear strategies to help clients achieve their goals. She understands
the intricate interplay of wealth, values, and decision-making, and
skillfully guides families through transitions and wealth transfers. Her
expertise lies in recognizing the potential opportunities and
challenges faced by families in this space, and she excels at
fostering open communication, education, and collaboration around
rising generation engagement.
Jennifer is an Executive in Residence and Adjunct Lecturer at the
John L. Ward Center for Family Enterprises at Northwestern Kellogg
School of Management, as well as a featured speaker on family
dynamics and governance at industry events.

Personal
Jennifer is the mother of twin college-aged girls, living in Connecticut with her family and cuckoo (yet
adored) dog. She is a runner, skier, hiker and lover of anything outdoors, and thrives on visits to her
extended family in Colorado and exploring mountains anywhere.
