Which vaccinations you need depends on a number of factors, including: your destination, whether you will be spending time in rural areas, the season of the year you are traveling, your age, health status, and previous immunizations.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their routine immunizations are up-to-date and to discuss any vaccinations with their doctor.

Note that all countries recommend that travelers be up-to-date on routine immunizations, such as:

  • Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (DTP)
  • Hepatitis-B
  • Polio
  • Meningitis
  • Chicken pox (Varicella)
  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • Influenza

Be sure to check if vaccines are a single shot/dose, or must be a series of shots/doses over a certain period of time in order to obtain the full amount prior to traveling.
