Career workshop helps alums

The Kellogg Career Management Center continues to offer alumni the resources to help them take the next professional step. A new two-day workshop, "Re-Entering the Workforce," sold out almost immediately. Held Oct. 17 and Nov. 14, the workshop attracted nearly three dozen Kellogg graduates, with many others on a waiting list.

"We intend to give alumni the tools to position themselves and their experiences to employers by marketing their time away from the formal work arena," said Matthew Temple, director of alumni career services. The program is ideal for those who have taken time off to raise a family, or for entrepreneurs who have started businesses but now want to re-enter the workforce.

The workshop brought a "great mix of experience, age and gender," said Temple.

Because of high demand, Kellogg may offer the workshop again soon. The school is also exploring taking it on the road to San Francisco and New York.
