In an increasingly global economy, it’s critical for business leaders to develop a global understanding of management.

That’s the impetus behind the Kellogg School’s Global Electives Week, a six-day program that convenes Executive MBA students from the Evanston campus, Miami campus and Kellogg’s Global Partner Programs in Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, Toronto and Vallendar, Germany.

More than 165 students and alumni — a record-breaking number — flocked to the Miami campus for this year’s Global Electives Week (April 7-12). Integrating across programs, professions and nationalities, students completed a series of rigorous electives taught by Kellogg faculty members. (A select number of alumni also audited the courses.)

Along with learning from world-class faculty, Global Electives Week provides invaluable opportunities for students and alumni to build their international network, said Rebecca Mandelman EMP-83, a graduate of the Miami campus.

“It’s fantastic to get a first-hand example of how extensive our networks are at Kellogg,” she said. “There’s a purple pride that extends far beyond the Miami campus or the Evanston campus — and that’s very inspiring.”
