Michael Mazzeo Associate Professor of Strategy / Kellogg School of Management

Michael Mazzeo’s research focuses on empirical industrial organization, in particular the role of differentiation and endogenous product choice in firm strategy and market competition. His work has focused on developing new statistical methodologies for examining the role of product differentiation in markets, and quantifying these effects in industry studies. Professor Mazzeo has published papers based on research in the airline, banking, health care, lodging, retail and telecommunications industries. He serves on the editorial board of the Review of Industrial Organization, and is a co-author of Roadside MBA: Back Road Lessons for Entrepreneurs, Executives, and Small Business Owners.

Laura Bell Vice President / Bell's Brewery

Laura Bell is Vice President of Bell’s Brewery, Inc., the seventh largest craft brewery in the United States. A second generation co-owner, Bell has spent time working various odd jobs when she was younger like gluing labels to bottles and in the Eccentric Café’s kitchen while in high school. Laura officially started working at the brewery full-time in 2007 after graduating from Michigan State University. Since then, she has spent time in sales, all areas of beer production and built the marketing department from the ground up. Bell now oversees Business Insights, Government Compliance, Marketing, Sales and Specialty Brewing departments.

Michael Quilty Founder and former CEO / Matrix Medical Network

Michael Quilty is the founder and former CEO of Matrix Medical Network, a healthcare company recognized in the Inc. 500/5000 Fastest Growing Companies rankings in 2009 and 2010. Matrix was sold to a private equity firm in 2011. Prior to Matrix, Quilty served as an executive at several healthcare companies. Before entering civilian life, Quilty was a Lieutenant on the USS GATO, a nuclear powered fast attack submarine.

Brad Simmons Senior Vice President, Marketing / Sofi

Brad Simmons leads SoFi’s acquisition and growth marketing, including Search, Display/Programmatic, Partnerships and Affiliates, Email, Direct Mail, DRTV and Radio, Optimization, Marketing Technology and Marketing Analytics. Before joining SoFi, Simmons led integrated marketing teams at TenX (formerly Auction.com) and Fuze, where he was responsible for Brand, Acquisition, Partnerships and Product Marketing. Prior to that, he spent 8 years at Experian leading the marketing, acquisition and business development teams for the Freecreditreport.com/Freecreditscore.com brands in addition to building out two new products: Protectmyid.com and Creditchecktotal.com. Simmons holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Cal State University, Northridge.

Marshall Solem is a Principal at ZS Associates. Solem has held several leadership positions in the company including: head of ZS’s global Sales Business Area, leader of ZS’s Midwest region and founder/leader of the company’s Medical Products and Services industry vertical. Additionally, Solem leads several key client relationships for the company. His client work focuses on changing sales models and how to retool go-to-market strategies and company competencies to compete effectively in the rapidly changing market.
