Latin American families face a generational decision: how to preserve their legacies while allocating capital toward innovation, new business models and long-term impact. The current global environment – marked by shifting rate expectations, tighter financial conditions, selective capital markets and uncertain exit windows – requires greater discipline in portfolio construction.
This immersion is designed for family business owners, family office principals, board members, CIOs, and next-generation leaders with a direct role in capital allocation and governance who want to make deliberate, strategic decisions about private capital. Participants will explore core tenets of private capital (including private equity, venture capital and search funds) while remaining aligned with the family’s values and governance model. Families will be able to move from ad hoc investment decisions to a disciplined private capital strategy anchored in purpose.
The program frames private equity beyond simply an investment decision, but as a strategic one. It helps determine the role families should play within the private capital ecosystem, and whether they have the governance, structure and internal alignment to execute efficiently. Participants leave with a disciplined private equity strategy, clear governance principles, pacing logic, investment committee framework and a 12-month execution roadmap.
Kellogg’s Miami Campus serves as the bridge between U.S. capital markets, governance standards and Latin American family capital. Renowned Kellogg faculty and practitioners’ global expertise in board and corporate governance, private capital markets, offshore structures, and regional regulatory risk management helps families bring institutional rigor to their private capital decisions. Proprietary Kellogg frameworks connect legacy preservation with the imperative need for growth and innovation in family businesses.
The program will be delivered in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Spanish based on participant needs.
