Say “ni hao” to the Kellogg Alumni Club of Shanghai, which represents more than 600 graduates across Shanghai and the surrounding region. With the city’s continued growth as a global business hub, including exciting developments in China’s economy, this is a dynamic time to be part of the Kellogg community in Asia.

HCAK Deep Dive Into Chinese Healthcare

Every March, more than 50 MBA students in the Healthcare at Kellogg program travel to Shanghai for an intensive weeklong immersion in China’s healthcare industry. Over five days, students gain firsthand exposure to the full spectrum of one of the world’s most dynamic healthcare markets — from pharmaceutical commercialization and hospital systems to biotech innovation and regulatory policy.

Purple Pride Summer BBQ and Thanksgiving

Each summer, the chapter hosts a send-off for new Kellogg students in the region before they head to Evanston or Miami. Come November, the chapter marks Thanksgiving in a tradition that’s grown into the largest recurring event on the alumni calendar. “What makes both evenings distinctive is not the programming but the people — cohorts from across the globe, industries and graduation years united by a common thread that holds no matter the distance,” says Shanghai Club President Claire Chin ’14 MBA.

Greater China Alumni Voices

Through the Greater China Alumni Voices series, the chapter brings Kellogg stories to life. Alumni such as Richard Zhang ’93 MBA, equity partner and head of greater China at Apax Partners, and Joey Wat ’00 MBA, CEO of Yum China Holdings, represent the depth of leadership talent the Kellogg network has cultivated across the region. The series also turns the lens inward: In a recent episode, Sherry Ding ’98 MBA, global partner at Spencer Stuart, spoke about navigating economic cycles, AI disruption and long-term career resilience.
