Alumni Club of Chicago-WestThe Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago-West hosted the 22nd annual Kellogg Super Bowl Ad Review on February 10. Featuring Timothy Calkins, clinical professor of marketing and associate chair of the Marketing Department, the popular event brought together 250 attendees for an interactive presentation at the Drake Oak Brook, Autograph Collection. Calkins applied the strategic ADPLAN framework to evaluate an ad’s ability to build its brand against six critical criteria: attention, distinction, positioning, linkage, amplification and net equity. He discussed the ads, the trends and what makes a successful Super Bowl spot. Attendees used their phones to vote on each of the commercials presented, and a lively discussion followed each ad after the audience results were presented. The event was sponsored by Republic Bank.
