General Mills honors Jacobs with super-sized surprise

Dean Jacobs with giant Wheaties box and students.

Dean Donald Jacobs was presented with a life-size Wheaties box by Ian Friendly, senior vice president of General Mills, and several Kellogg alums who work for the company.

The Kellogg community already knew Dean Jacobs was a champion. Now, thanks to General Mills, he's got his own super-sized Wheaties cereal box to convince the rest of the world.

In a special February ceremony in Evanston, the dean was presented with a life-size cereal box emblazoned with his image. Jacobs met his beaming replica with an identical smile as he took the microphone before a packed atrium in the Donald P. Jacobs Center.

Quipped Jacobs as he considered the ingredients panel on the box that included his "vital statistics" and accomplishments: "Well, there's not a lot of fat in here, so that's great."

Presenting the honor was Ian Friendly, senior vice president of General Mills, and Kellogg alums who work for the company.
