Running

I ran the Baltimore Marathon in October 2004. Since I'm originally from Baltimore, running my first marathon in my home city was a nice treat. I have also run the Pittsburgh Great Race several times.

The Google Map Pedometer is a great tool for mapping out running routes. Here is a helpful map of running routes in Schenley Park (next to CMU's campus).

My Favorite Quotes

  • "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it."
    --Andre Gide
  • "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
    --Douglas Adams

And a few others...

  • "Let advertisers spend the same amount of money improving their product that they do on advertising and they wouldn't have to advertise it."
    --Will Rogers
  • "An economist is an expert who will know tomorrow why the things he predicted yesterday didn't happen today."
    --Laurence J. Peter
  • "An economist is someone who, after seeing something that works in practice, asks if it can also work in theory."
  • Q: "How many economists does it take to change a lightbulb?"
A: "Irrelevant - the lightbulb's preferences are to be taken as given."
