EMP-36

Hello, EMP-36. Mark here. We extend our sincere sympathies to Karen Kalbacher Stevens, whose father John Kalbacher passed away Aug. 19.

Congratulations to Kathleen and Bill Weyers, who welcomed their fourth child. The newest member, born June 24, is son Ryan William Weyers. Bill and I still like to get together in eastern Iowa for a round of golf, as it also gives Bill a chance to keep up with his airplane pilot's license.

Who should I run into in the Quad Cities airport but Kevin Baudhuin. Kevin just moved back from England and recently bought a house in New Jersey. Kevin is still with BOC and is now president, industrial and special products, North America. It was great to see him and that smiling face.

Bob Aspell was vacationing in northern Wisconsin while Mauria, Bob's wife, was down in Texas enjoying their grandchildren. She received a call from President Bill Clinton's people to be back in Hot Springs for interviews with Dan Rather for a "60 Minutes" feature as a run-up to promote Clinton's book. After filming "60 Minutes" they all went bowling. Can you imagine Dan Rather bowling?

Mark T. Nelson and his family recently spent two weeks on a family vacation in Norway. After visiting the usual tourist destinations, he headed to the village of Tjotta, population 235, where he found ancestors and living relatives. An example of the power of maintaining EMP friendships and networking: Karen Stevens' company provided the travel arrangements.

After returning from the London School of Business and vacationing recently in D.C., Ken Dumais reported that he, Lynn and their children have been living in Denver for almost five years. Ken recently completed 18 years ofserviceworkingfor EDS. His free time is spent chasing the family around. He also does some volunteer work, serving on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of the Rocky Mountain Region and volunteering in the Denver-area schools.

If you are not receiving email messages from Karen or me, then chances are we've lost track of your email address. Take a minute, drop one of us a note and help us ensure we all stay connected.
