Yury Dubinsky and his wife, Marina, welcomed the birth of their son, Leo, on Feb.11 and then closed on a house in Glenview at the end of the same month. Yury is an associate director at UBS AG in the Chicago office trying not to get outsourced to Singapore, although he still has the entrepreneurial and real estate bug and is trying to get some projects off the ground.

Wendy Lawler and Rick Hoff were married on Aug. 30 in Joliet, Ill. The couple met back in junior high and saw each other through the era of the worst possible hairstyles and glam rock. After not having seen each other for seven years, the couple had the help of siblings to bring them together. Rick’s brother and Wendy’s sister, who are good friends, hatched a plan to reunite the two and the rest is history. They got engaged in Oct. 2002, right after Wendy ran the Chicago Marathon, and were married 10 months later. The couple honeymooned in Mo’orea, a French Polynesian island near Tahiti, and live in Lincoln Park.
