The Kellogg Alumni Club of Orange County (KACOC) was at its proudest as we hosted the second event since our club launch in February. On May 19, Kellogg Professor Daniel Diermeier spoke to a packed house at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

Diermeier, the Kellogg School's 2001 Professor of the Year, presented "Managing Corporate Reputations in a Global Environment — Beyond the Obvious." He then took many questions from the diverse crowd of Kellogg graduates, guests from other MBA alumni clubs and area executives. The investor-heavy audience was due to the efforts of Joseph Klauzar '06, Diermeier's partner in Cassandra Capital Partners LLC, a Newport Beach-based hedge fund. Klauzar and the rest of the KACOC leadership team delivered a high-end, memorable evening that belied our club's newness.

On Aug. 12, we will hold a social gathering at the oceanside home of an OC alum as a pre-event to the Kellogg Alumni Club of L.A.'s annual "Pageant of the Masters" group night. Later this year, we are considering a community outreach project and perhaps a combined holiday party with KACLA. Visit our club home page and update your contact information to keep up with the latest developments, including events from other MBA alumni clubs in Orange County.

Many thanks to Mick Bechtel and Leah Shaheen from Kellogg Alumni Relations for their stalwart support of the KACOC. They have been on board with us since day one, helping us power up the Web site, send out mailings and get us all the tools we need to succeed. Good luck to Mick as he leaves Kellogg this year to pursue his studies.
