It's hard to believe that spring is once again upon us and with that comes new beginnings. For some of our colleagues, it means new career opportunities. For Joyce Hansen, after six years running a profitable consulting business, she decided to join Johnson & Johnson as vice president of sterile process technology. In this new role, Joyce will champion the sterilization technical competency for terminal processes or aseptic manufacturing across all of the Johnson & Johnson franchises worldwide. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for Joyce and one that we're sure she'll do a phenomenal job. The new role will also require her to relocate. Hopefully, Joyce will still come and visit for our "get-togethers." Congratulations on the new role and best of luck on the move.

Another colleague we've not heard from in quite some time is Charles Chiappone. After seven years at Alloy Polymers, a privately-held service provider for the thermoplastic industry, Charlie has assumed the position of vice president for Armstrong World Industries, a $2.8B publicly traded general building materials company with its corporate headquarter at Lancaster, Pa. In his new role, Charlie will be responsible for global marketing and commercial excellence for Armstrong. With his background working for large conglomerates including GE, we're confident of Charlie's success. Best wishes and congratulations, Charlie.

In other news, our own Sue Nedza, continues to be a bit of a celebrity. In a recent article, "MDs Go For MBAs To Learn Business of Medicine," published earlier this year on Investors.com, Dr. Nedza was interviewed to share her journey. As you may all recall, Sue was an ER doctor when she enrolled at Kellogg to "learn the business of medicine." Since then, not only did she achieve her goal, but she has completely transformed her career to focus more on providing "business solutions" and sharpening her skills as a pure business developer. Not to worry, she will always have her medical training to help her conquer corporate America. By the way, Sue will give autographs, but please, no pictures.

On a lighter note, Jose Martinez had such a great time running the Chicago Marathon in 2010 that he has decided to make a go of it again in 2012. Much to his surprise, he was able to convince his wife Kamala Martinez to join him for this run. If any of you are able to see Jose and Kamala run the 2012 Chicago Marathon, please do so and remember to cheer them on.

That is it for now. Keep an eye out for mid-spring "get-together" for EMP-46.
