Global Managing Director at Accenture Technology Labs

An accomplished executive with a track record of applying technology innovation to address business challenges, Mike Redding is the Global Managing Director for Accenture Technology Labs, the dedicated technology research and development (R&D) organization within Accenture.

Leading a diverse team of technology experts across the globe, Mike directs strategic programs that identify and translate new and emerging technologies into Accenture business solutions, providing tangible business results for large enterprises. Mike oversees Labs operations in five key locations: Silicon Valley (San Jose, CA); Washington, D.C.; Beijing, China; Sophia Antipolis, France; and Bangalore, India. The Accenture Technology Labs have five key R&D streams: Digital Experiences, Data Insights, Software Engineering, Infrastructure & Systems, and Security.

Mike’s passion for bold ideas that produce game-changing results has been a constant theme over his 20+ years with Accenture. Mike has incubated and launched technology innovations to clients across multiple geographies and industries including Banking, Mortgage Lending, Insurance, Digital Advertising, Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Telecommunications and Public Sector Agencies (Defense, Postal). Mike speaks frequently on the impact of emerging technology on large organizations across various client, industry, and media forums.

Mike has sponsored a number of programs globally in partnership with Accenture’ Corporate Citizenship programs to improve the communities in which Accenture Technology Labs works and lives and serves on the Board of Directors of the Accenture Foundation.

Mike received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University in 1988 and a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1991. Mike lives in Silicon Valley with his wife, Pam.

Over the course of his 20 years within the technology industry, Iqbal has been a prominent force behind Motorola, and is responsible for many transformational products that have truly changed the way people all over the world communicate, accomplish, discover, and share. This Northwestern graduate led the transformation of Motorola, and the smartphone industry by developing and introducing the first DROID smartphone which put both Motorola and Android on the map. After having a successful executive career in engineering, product management and general management roles, Iqbal experienced the unprecedented decline of Motorola due to a major technological shift in the industry. At this critical juncture, Iqbal used his passion for building technology, products and teams to successfully lead the smartphone and tablet revolution at Motorola. Iqbal graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Electrical Engineering, fueled by a passion for computing and wireless. He then went on to complete the MEM program at Northwestern in 1997.

Growing up, Iqbal had a passion for building electronic gadgets, RC planes, and programming computers. His dream of working for Motorola was fulfilled when he joined the Motorola Networks group.

Iqbal has served as the VP and General Manager of Motorola Europe Products, CVP of Innovation Products, CVP of Converged Computing Group, and currently serves as the SVP of Global Product Development. In his tenure at Motorola, Iqbal has successfully led the RAZR, DROID, Moto X, Moto G, IDEN Push to Talk, and Moto 360 wearable product lines. He also led the creation of foundational technologies like 4G mobile communications, and generated world-class innovation-based intellectual property.

Iqbal’s products have received countless awards throughout the years, including accolades from the Consumer Electronics Association, and publications like TIME, CNET, and Popular Mechanics. In 2010 Iqbal was named as one of Crain’s Chicago’s ‘40 Under 40’.
