Razvan Vlaicu
Visiting Assistant Professor of Managerial Economics & Decision Sciences
Razvan Vlaicu, Assistant Professor, received his PhD in economics from Northwestern University in June 2006. He joined the faculty of the University of Maryland in the same year. His research interests include political economy, applied microeconomics, development and applied econometrics. His research has focused on political accountability and incentives in government, endogenous legislative institutions and the influence of political parties, and the political economy of development and clientelism. His research has been published in leading economics and political science journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, the American Political Science Review, and the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization. At Maryland, Razvan teaches courses in undergraduate econometrics and graduate political economy.
