11/27/2018 - Article features research from Professors Jan Van Mieghem and Yuval Salant, who found that published flight times increased 8.1 percent between 1997 and 2017. Article attributes the longer flights to airlines giving themselves more padding to increase the chance of a flight being on time. The research was originally covered in Kellogg Insight.
