T. Bondurant French was among the first students to participate in a Kellogg pilot program—a condensed undergraduate degree and MBA completing six years of study in five. It was a daunting, exhilarating experience he still treasures. Bon joined Adams Street Partners in 1980, and today is the firm's Executive Chairman having previously been its CEO and Chief Investment Officer. Adams Street Partners is a global private markets investment manager. Deeply and generously committed to his alma mater, Bon has chaired several reunions, guest lectured at Northwestern University and Kellogg, serves as an NU trustee, and as a member of the Kellogg School's Dean's Advisory Board. He chairs the University's Investment Committee and is a member of the University's INVO Committee, focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the University. The INVO Committee helped to launch NU's Garage, a cross-disciplinary entrepreneurship space where students experiment, collaborate, and build ideas. Bon is the recipient of the 2011 Schaffner Award honoring preeminent alumni who have provided outstanding service to Kellogg. He generously contributes his time and resources to Kellogg because "I've been fortunate to have done well and it's important to give back. I strongly believe alumni must not only give, but give continuously."
