TMP 2000

Sal Abbate TMP2000 with daughter Olivia, who was born last October.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at the Kellogg Connections alumni-networking event on June 22 at Wieboldt (sponsored by the Alumni Relations Committee)! The event was a big success and it was great connecting with several of you. Although I couldn’t make it to the Community Relations committee softball tournament against U of C on July 28, thanks to everyone who attended this event and helped raise money/food for Sports for Hunger and a local food depository. If you didn’t hear about these events, that might be because you don’t have your alumni e-mail forwarding address set up. Go to http://www.kellogg.nwu.edu/
alumni/services/index.htm
to set this up and sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv.

In late-June I had the pleasure to reunite with several TMP friends from the GIM China (Ni Hao!) trip in 1999 at a Chinese restaurant on Michigan Ave.

Congratulations to Mica who was married on Sept. 1! You can reach her at her new home phone in NYC at 646.486.1801 or at work at 212.373.1092. It was great seeing you all again. WEK!

I was pleased to get a call from Jason Apple from California who has been working for Commerce One for the last year and a half. Rumor has it that Jason has been spotted in Chicago recently. Hope we see more of you back in town, Jason. Jason can be reached at 925.413.8476.

Barb Borgstrom recently spent several weeks in Australia traveling. In between sight seeing (Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, botanical gardens, Darling Harbor, Fraser Island), Barb spent some time kayaking with the dolphins in Byron Bay, diving with gray nurse and woebegone sharks, watching rugby (the mighty British Lions crushed the Aussie Wallabies) and sailing through the Whitsunday islands. What a vacation! Barb will soon be moving to Boston. Hopefully I will get to see you some during the week, Barb.

It was great meeting Shaila Karim ’01 at my own surprise birthday party this summer through a mutual friend Grace Kim. Thanks again for being one of the few to NOT bring me Ping-Pong balls as a present (I am still finding them stuffed throughout my condo!).

Jimmy Li writes that although he misses Chicago summers, he is really enjoying life in the Valley of the Sun (in his backyard pool). Life at Intel is great. Jimmy is excelling in the open, results-oriented culture and just recently received a significant award from an operations group. You can reach Jimmy at 480.715.0188 or jimmy.li@intel.com

Jerry Panzer has just moved into his new home in Hermosa Beach, Calif. If you are in L.A., Jerry would love to hear from you! You can reach him as follows: 213.593.6648 (work); 310.798.4083 (home); e-mail jpanzer@kpmg.com. His address is: 669 6th St., Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.

I recently joined the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago, which is now being run by TMP graduate and 1998 class representative John Tomaszewski (this is the same John who drafted me into Alumni Relations activities at Kellogg when I joined!). I am now pleased to be serving as its treasurer. Keep your eyes open for some new and exciting events (that will break even).

After more than three years at Cisco on the Ameritech/SBC account Kate Doyle Siebert left in July to join Micromuse, Inc. as a sales director for the North Central Region. While away from work, Kate is staying busy with her new daughter, Mary Grace her and older brother Jack, 2. You can reach Kate at: 847.493.6849 (work) or 312.925.7726 (mobile).

Congratulations to Kurian Thomas and his wife Sarah on the birth of their new daughter Mayura Elizabeth Thomas, born July 26. Mayura was 6 pounds, 14 ounces and 20 inches. Mother and baby are doing fine. Kurian is as happy as ever.

George P. Webb and Beth A. Thompson were engaged in March. They have also recently relocated to Boston from Chicago to be closer to family. George is working for Fidelity Management Trust Company and will be responsible for marketing institutional investment management services to Fortune 100 clients in the Northeast. Beth recently accepted a position with Hyclone Biotechnology Corporation and will be responsible for key account management for clients in the Boston area. They will be settling in West Newton, outside of Boston. George may be reached at gwebb2000@kellogg.nwu.edu. It was great hearing from all of you. Let’s keep the updates coming! Go Cats!
