Dave Rochlin writes: "I started 'moonlighting' as a B-school professor in 2001,
teaching e-business and technology strategy in the executive
MBA program at St. Mary's College (California). The campus
is roughly three minutes from my house in Moraga, where I
live with my wife Tara Rochlin and two boys. Developing and teaching the course
also inspired me to start working on a book to demystify the
various strategic issues related to technology and provide
a practical, readable, integrated view of the topic. The book
— Hunter or Hunted: Technology, Innovation, and Competitive
Strategy — will be published by Thomson in June. (ISBN:
0324261284 for anyone who wants to preorder on Amazon!) It
presents a balanced look from an academic, practitioner and
historical perspective, and Thomson is positioning it for
both academic and trade channels."
Christopher
Lockhart is busy reinvigorating his Ohio-based investment boutique,
Lockhart Group, after a short retirement in sunny Florida.
The timing was right, with seven sell-side assignments under
way. Chris was also named co-chair of the Memorial Day Lou
Cox 5K, one of southwest Ohio's largest runs. He is also actively
searching for talent for a benefit to be held at Paramount's
Kings Island for Adventures for Wish Kids, a charity dedicated
to helping terminally ill children and their families. Anyone
with contacts to musical talent can email Chris at mclockhart@aol.com.
Bill
Angeloni took over as
president and chief executive officer of Exostar (Herndon,
Va.) in February 2004. Exostar is a survivor of the B2B era
and is providing critical infrastructure and solutions that
enable business processes throughout the integrated supply
chain — they actually built out the vision everyone
was talking about. After growing 65 percent last year, it
appears technology is back and B2B has a role to play!
In
November I joined Motorola's Mobile Devices Business in Libertyville,
Ill., as a senior marketing manager for GSM mass-market cell
phones. It's my third tour of duty at Motorola — my
most recent stint ended in 1993 when I joined Shure Inc. (Niles,
Ill.) to head up its wireless microphone effort. I'm hoping
the third time is a charm.
