Kellogg Alumni Club of South Florida
Several Kellogg MBAs enjoyed the MBA Federation of South Florida's January party at the Czech-Slovak Cultural Club in North Miami. Kellogg alums in attendance included, top row, starting with third from left, Kristin Barbieri '97, Willy Kotas '86, Rodrigo Ocampo '87 and Vladimir Barbieri '97.

Florida—South

Quite possibly motivated by hearing "Wasting Away in Margaritaville" one too many times at a beachfront bar, Arturo Henriquez '99 abandoned Miami for a location closer to "the source" (of tequila), Mexico City. Recently returned Jonathan Muhtar '00 has taken Arturo's spot on the KACSF steering committee.

Arturo Henriquez '99, Diane Gomez '03 and Willy Kotas '86 turned out for Northwestern law professor Larry Marshall's talk on "The Innocence Revolution."

Thanks to Professor Jeanne Brett for visiting South Florida in March and delivering an all-day executive education program on cross-cultural negotiations. We could have used her wisdom in Miami back in 2000 during the Elian Gonzalez affair.

Our club blends a calendar of quarterly "Kellogg-only" events with many others that involve partnerships with the local chapters of the Northwestern University Club (NUCSF) and the University of
Chicago Alumni Club, as well as the approximately 20 alumni associations united under the MBA Federation of South Florida umbrella, www.mfsf.org.

This summer's major NUCSF/KACSF event will revolve around the Cubs-Marlins game the afternoon of Sept. 5, where mixed feelings about Steve Bartman will surely surface over beers and bratwurst at the pre-game tailgater. We might also discuss the merits of the "Felo Ramirez and Dave Van Horne talking bottle opener" that the first 10,000 fans to enter Pro Player Stadium will receive as a give-away. Those are sure to appreciate quickly on eBay!

The club is also planning a day of service for local alums who would like to help out the less fortunate in Miami. This event will take place in early November... More soon on our Web site.

Get involved in our club! Join the discussion group that Diane Gomez '03 has set up on the Kellogg Web site for the South Florida alumni community.
