Course Description

Finance II is the second course in the Finance sequence. In Finance 1 you learned the building blocks of finance. In Finance 2, I will cover the fundamental finance concepts necessary to run a firm. The firm can range from a multi-billion international conglomerate to a three person entrepreneurial firm. The material is valuable for those with a career in corporate finance or if your objective is to run your own or someone else’s (the shareholder’s) firm or you already are. You will learn how to raise capital (capital structure) and how firms choose which projects to fund (capital budgeting). The syllabus contains a list of lecture topics and a brief description of what I expect to cover in each session.

Canvas

Canvas: This is a learning managment system (LMS) run by the university. A number of the class components can be found there, including: the class discussion group and the quizzzes. A course calendar that you can link to your google or outlook calendar is also available. Finally, I will also post your assignment scores in the gradebook function on Canvas.

Honor Code

Honor Code: I expect that the honor code will be followed at all times. I trust that no one will give or receive assistance which gives them an unfair advantage over other students.
