Karen S. Van Camp is Clinical Professor in Leadership Development and Communications at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where she has taught verbal presentations and persuasion since 1990. She also taught at Northwestern's Communication Studies undergraduate programs from 1986-1994.

Van Camp is a verbal presentations communications consultant; specializing in consulting and sales presentations, conference addresses, expert witness testimonies, and television and radio interviews. Her clients include: CEOs, management consultants, account executives, physicians, attorneys and their clients, and radio and television personalities. She has been in practice since 1986.

Executive Presentations (LDEV-452-5)
Learn how to conceptualize, construct and deliver engaging and persuasive business presentations - formally and informally. In this action-packed interactive learning experience students will explore the following: how to best engage and tailor content for an audience, speak authentically, present data, integrate storytelling, design clear slides, respond in the moment, and build overall confidence in presentation skills critical for executive success. Addressing in person and online formats will be highlighted.

Persuasive Presentations (LDEV-450-0)
Verbal communication is the one skill business leaders cannot delegate to others. Other classes teach how to create value; this class teaches how to communicate value. Your knowledge is powerful only when you can communicate it to others. The purpose of this course is to advance students' oral business presentation skills, so their messages are clear, their underlying reasoning is sound, and their presentations are effective. Class sessions include lecture, discussion, presentations and critiques. Each class, except classes 1 and 8, every student delivers a standing persuasive presentation derived from corporate clients' most recurring presentation situations. Students may be critiqued by the professor and by peers every week. Eight presentations are individual; Class 9 is a team presentation. The final in-class individual presentation is Class 10.
