Ruslan Momot is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Operations at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at HEC Paris, France (on leave from HEC Paris in AY 2021-2022). Ruslan received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Technology & Operations Management from INSEAD, France as well as M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics & Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology, Russia.
Ruslan's primary research interests lie in consumer privacy & information management area. He investigates how traditional operations management approaches and business models should change to accommodate the economy’s increasing reliance on data & interconnectedness. In his recent work, Ruslan studies the design of data strategies for digital platforms, data-driven personalized revenue management policies for businesses (e.g., personalized pricing & assortment), as well as the design of customer-centric information-control policies in service systems. Ruslan's earlier work covers (i) the use & value of social network information for selective selling & personalized pricing on platforms, and (ii) the analysis of incentives of individuals to protect against networked risks.
Ruslan's research on consumer privacy has been presented at the Federal Trade Commission of the United States. He also consulted several regulatory agencies including CNIL France (National Commission on Informatics and Liberty).
