Digital Operations: Framework and Future Directions, Management and Business Review

Abstract

The digital economy is transforming the way we work. We provide a framework for organizations to assess their digital operations and to provide direction where to go. The framework’s premise is that digitization enables automated and/or smart execution of workflows. Evaluating the level and reach of these three pillars--digitization, automation, and smart--across the organization’s value chain provides a diagnostic tool that can inspire future desired directions of digitization.
