Chicago Cubs: Optimizing Ticket Prices

Abstract

Chase Carpenter, director of strategy and analytics for the Chicago Cubs professional baseball team, was already thinking about the next season. Even as the Cubs were having success on the field, Chase knew it was time to start planning the pricing strategy for the coming year. He wanted to use his background in analytics to develop an algorithm that would enable the team to sell out every game at the profit-maximizing price.
