Presentation Guide

Presentation Locations

Venues must be booked by the company for all off-campus events. We recommend that venues not be booked prior to the Career Management Center confirming a date and time for your event.


These can be used for presentations in The Jacobs Center (on-campus) but please check with off-campus venues directly for their catering policies.


A corporate presentation is one way to educate students about your company’s culture and the career path students might take if they join your organization. Each company is allotted one hour on the Kellogg calendar for the presentation. A format of 20-30 minutes of formal presentation followed by Q&A/networking is recommended.

Is a presentation right for your company?

If your firm has an established recruiting program at Kellogg and a history of consistent presentation attendance of more than 25 students, a corporate presentation may be right for you. If you are new to Kellogg, or have had poor presentation attendance in the past, you may want to consider attending one of the Kellogg Networking Nights or holding an event with a club at Kellogg in lieu of a formal corporate presentation. Your Industry Relationship Manager can help guide you to the right choice for your company.

Presentation Timetable

Second-year-only presentations: Begin on September 23rd, 2013*
First-year-only presentations: Begin October 28th, 2013
Combined first- and second-year presentations: Begin October 28th, 2013**

*Due to constraints to the Kellogg calendar and decreasing attendance at 2nd-year-only presentations, these events will only be approved for companies who have a successful recruiting history at Kellogg or who conducted successful second-year-only presentations last year.  For all other companies, we suggest attending one of our Kellogg Networking Nights in lieu of a formal corporate presentation.

**This presentation type has been pushed back due to the timing of first-year CMC programming.

Presentation Scheduling

Requests began at 11:00 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013.

Each company may:

Participate in one 2nd year KNN and hold one first-year presentation
Hold one combined first- and second-year presentation.

Requests must be submitted online through the Career Management System (CMS) for Employers and slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. At Kellogg, we do not schedule conflicting presentations (e.g. there will never be two firms presenting at the same time for investment banking roles). You will be asked to select three date and time choices but if none of your choices are available, we will schedule the presentation in the next available slot. Although we can’t guarantee accommodating your choices, please note in the comments box if:

  • Being in the Jacobs Center (on-campus) is more important to you than the precise date and time you requested, or
  • If you would be willing to change your venue and/or time to hold your event on one of your chosen dates.

Evening presentations

Evening presentations are held Mondays through Thursdays from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During winter quarter, there are no Wednesday evening presentations due to the Global Initiatives in Management class. On-campus presentations in the Donald P. Jacobs Center must start at 5:15 p.m. and be out of the classroom at 6:15 p.m.

Lunch presentations

Lunch presentations are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. On-campus presentations in the Donald P. Jacobs Center must start at 12:15 p.m. and be out of the classroom by 1:15 p.m.

Publicizing your event

If your presentation has been scheduled through the Career Management Center, it will be listed on the main Kellogg calendar of events as well as in the CMS for Employers. Our office is unable to guarantee attendance at your event, but we do suggest the following to help with student awareness and interest:

  • Two weeks prior to your event, contact student clubs related to your industry and ask if they can include your event in their weekly newsletter.
  • Two weeks prior to your event, you may send your Industry Relationship Manager two posters (no larger than 16”x22”) with information about the date, time and location of the presentation.
  • Use the student communication tool on the main page of the CMS for Employers to send a targeted e-mail about your event. Note: You will be able to send out only two communications per year using this tool.
    (At the students' request, we do not stuff mailboxes with flyers or products.)
  • If you would like us to attach a document (PDF, PowerPoint, etc.) to your event's calendar listing, please contact your Industry Relationship Manager
