Current Responsibilities Lynn Thurber is the non-Executive Chairman of LaSalle Investment Management, a global real estate money management firm investing in private real estate as well as publicly-traded real estate companies on behalf of institutional and individual investors. In her role as Chairman, Ms. Thurber advises the firm’s senior management team and serves as a member of several investment committees and advisory boards. She also chairs the Jones Lang LaSalle committee for the firm’s co- investment activity.
Ms. Thurber is also a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute and a member of the Board of the Toigo Foundation.
Experience Prior to becoming Chairman, Ms. Thurber was the Chief Executive Officer of LaSalle Investment Management from March 2000 to December 2006 and Co-President from December 1994 to March 2000. Ms. Thurber was also a member of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Global Executive Committee. During that period assets under management grew from $9 billion to $44 billion with investments in 24 countries in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to Alex Brown, Kleinwort Benson (ABKB) Realty Advisors’ merger with LaSalle Partners in 1994, Ms. Thurber was Chief Executive Officer of that company. Before joining ABKB in 1992, she was a Principal at Morgan Stanley & Co. There she was primarily involved in the real estate and asset management groups and was responsible for the real estate portfolios of their fiduciary accounts from 1984 to 1992. She also was a Director and member of the Investment Committee of the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund.
Education and Affiliations Ms. Thurber earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Wellesley College. She formerly chaired the Pension Real Estate Association, a real estate industry group. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate. She is currently a member of The Chicago Network and the Wellesley College Business Leadership Council.
